One version is, he was left in the care of his Uncle after his father was killed by a group of men that entered their home and beat the father to death. After this Tom left with his younger sisters to his uncles house where he was severely beaten. He ran away from his uncle’s house and was rescued from the streets by police and taken to NCH. The uncle is now in jail for molesting him. He is a nice gentle boy with a flair for drawing. He is quite talented

Jimmy Odera

Age: 10 yrs
Hobbies: Reading and watching movies
What he wants to be when he grows up: Shop keeper

Story: Jimmy was a victim of the 'miracle baby' scandal. A Kenyan Archbishop based in London claimed to be able to impregnate infertile women through the power of prayer. He then sent the newly 'pregnant' women to Kenya to give 'birth' in downtown clinics, where they were presented with a miracle baby. These miracle babies were stolen from poor mothers, who were told their own child had died. Jimmy was rescued from the Odera's home (a couple charged over stealing babies), along with 9 other children and brought to TCRC in 2004
